The 'MacGruber' TV Series Has Officially Been Picked Up
Earlier this year, NBC announced that it was developing a series based on Will Forte and Jorma Taccone's throat-rippingly good movie MacGruber. Now, the show has officially been picked up.

The show has been given a full series order, with eight episodes currently in the works. The MacGruber series will be written and executive produced by Forte, directed by Taccone and co-written by John Solomon.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the show will see MacGruber "being released from prison after rotting behind bars for more than 10 years. His mission: to take down a mysterious villain from his past, Brigadier Commander Enos Queeth. With the entire world in the crosshairs, MacGruber must race against time to defeat the forces of evil — only to find that evil may be lurking within."

MacGruber doesn't have a release date just yet, but it's being developed for NBC's Peacock streaming service.
